Support Future Healthcare Leaders
Reducing student debt has become one of our highest priorities at NYMC. By supporting scholarships, you help deserving students manage the increasing cost of their education. You may choose to support the school-specific scholarships below.
College-wide Areas to Support
The Clinical Skills and Simulation Center
The Clinical Skills and Simulation Center (CSSC) at NYMC is an innovative, experiential training environment that promotes inter-professional collaboration, teaching and assessment of health professions students in an authentic clinical setting. Our learners include medical, dental, physical therapy, and nursing students; resident physicians; fellows; attending; local healthcare professionals; and students attending regional high school health professions programs. The innovative programs developed at the CSSC have been disseminated locally and nationally, and the center is recognized for its innovative and comprehensive health professional trainings. Your gift will help us provide our students and our community partners with the resources needed to become the healthcare professionals of tomorrow.
The Center for Disaster Medicine
The Center for Disaster Medicine (CDM) at NYMC conducts interdisciplinary research, training, technical assistance, and educational activities related to emergency preparedness for disasters, terrorism, and public health emergencies where they may occur, such as the current COVID-19 situation.
Biomedical Research
New York Medical College is the leading academic biomedical research center between New York City and the New York State capital of Albany. The College has 126,000 square feet of dedicated research space and manages research and other sponsored programs, notably in the areas of cancer, cardiovascular disease, infectious diseases, kidney disease, the neurosciences, disaster medicine, and vaccine development. NYMC's graduate faculty comprises about 90 individuals, most of whom direct ongoing, externally-funded, state-of-the-art research programs. SOM Giving Priorities
Every day, the NYMC School of Medicine strives to fulfill our mission of education, research and service without compromising our commitment to excellence. Each year, we send forth an average of 200 new physicians, trained to meet the nation's most pressing healthcare needs. They take with them superb clinical skills, combined with a deep commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care. There are many ways to support the School of Medicine. Here are some of our most pressing current financial needs:
Scholarships for Medical Students - Each year, NYMC awards more than $6 million in scholarship funds to needy students to help cover the increasing cost of medical education. Much of this is a result of donations from alumni who either contribute to an existing scholarship fund or make a larger philanthropic gift to create a named scholarship.
Reunion Medical Kit Initiative - Annually, we host Reunion Weekend, honoring reunion classes on a five-year cycle. Each year, these classes band together to raise money for the Reunion Medical Kit Initiative which helps incoming medical students cover the cost of purchasing their 1st year medical kit.
SOM Student Research Fund - The opportunity to conduct medical research offers students a unique chance to participate in the process of data acquisition and evaluation that drives the evolution of medical knowledge and provides the foundation for the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic modalities. This fund helps cover the cost of these important medical student research projects.
SHSP Giving Priorities
Our mission at the NYMC School of Health Sciences and Practice is preparing healthcare leaders of tomorrow. Our focus is the health of individuals, families and communities through education, investigation, practice and service.
With graduate programs accredited by the Council on Education in Public Health (CEPH), the Council on Academic Accreditation in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and The Council on Accreditation in Physical Therapy, the School of Health Sciences and Practice is distinguished for its excellence in health sciences education, its first-rate faculty and its top-ranking students.

GSBMS Giving Priorities
At the NYMC Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, we like to say "your breakthrough in science starts here." With more than $40 million in annual external funding supporting an impressive array of biomedical research programs and projects, and a student-to-faculty ratio of 2:1, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences offers students an exceptional opportunity for hands-on scientific discovery.
Research laboratories at GSBMS are equipped with state-of-the-art investigative equipment, providing capacity for advanced research techniques, including mass spectrometry, in vivo physiological monitoring, and gas or liquid (HPLC) chromatography. Our Comparative Medicine Facility (accredited by the prestigious Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care), provides excellent housing and husbandry for research animals.
There are many ways to support the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. Here are some of our most pressing current financial needs:
GSBMS Scholarship Fund - There are more than 150 students pursuing a Ph.D. or Master’s degree in one of our scientific disciplines to follow their dreams without the burden of debt and will also provide an expanse of opportunities for those students underrepresented in the Basic Sciences.
GSBMS Student Travel Fund - Presenting research at conferences is an important activity for every graduate student. Gifts to this fund allow GSBMS students to present their research at conferences around the country.
Graduate Student Research Forum Fund - Held each spring, the Graduate Student Research Forum (GSRF) is an annual, daylong event organized and hosted by the Graduate Student Association (GSA). It offers students an opportunity to present their own research orally or by poster to a panel of judges and an audience of their peers and faculty members.
