The Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism provides care for patients with a wide variety of conditions including diabetes mellitus, osteoporosis, disorders of the pituitary, thyroid, and adrenal glands, disorders of calcium metabolism, and disorders of female and male reproductive hormones at NYMC’s major clinical affiliate Westchester Medical Center. A very active inpatient consultation service assists other services with the management of endocrine and metabolic disorders, especially diabetes mellitus. Outpatient programs, including hospital-based clinics and a faculty practice, provide longitudinal and consultative care. The faculty practice general endocrinology.

Medical Student Education

Fourth-year medical students have the opportunity to explore the field of endocrinology through a four-week elective that includes both inpatient and outpatient clinical experiences.

Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Fellowship

The NYMC Endocrinology Fellowship Training Program at NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan prepares future endocrinologists to be superlative clinicians, consultants, and investigators with special expertise in providing care to the medically underserved, who face barriers of race, ethnicity, economic hardship, language, and social stigmatization.
