Dionysios Liveris, Ph.D.
Dionysios Liveris, Ph.D., has direct oversight of the SOM Microbiology Laboratory Educational Program and Management of the curriculum helping medical students to attain their future goals in healthcare.
A CDC-trained Laboratorian, Dr. Liveris has been the LSO of the NYMC BSL3 facility since its inception. As a bacterial geneticist, he was previously a research assistant professor at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at NYMC. Dr. Liveris also served as senior Laboratory manager for the chair of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of NYMC, for more than 20 years.
Dr. Liveris has authored and co-authored a number of publications and book chapters and has presented in numerous meetings both nationally and internationally. He has lectured as an adjunct in several Colleges in New York state, such as Mercy College, the CUNY system, Pace University, and at New York Podiatric school.
