Your health requirements must be up-to-date in Health Services no later than 30 days before the rotation start date. Check your health record and compare it to the clerkship site requirements. You can request a copy of your immunization report from Health Services, and have it automatically sent to your NYMC email address.

All clinical sites require:

  • Up-to-date (within one year) medical history and physical exam.
  • Up-to-date (within one year) TB screening (Tuberculin skin test or Quantiferon blood test) (history of positive test: CXR post-testing date required). For special requirements, see the table below. Tuberculin skin tests require the lot number and expiration date of PPD.
  • With the exception of sites with special requirements listed in the table below, all other requirements were completed at matriculation and Transition to Clerkship.

Contact health services for test prescriptions, TB screening, or if a new N95 fit test is required by the site.

Urine toxicology: Unless the clinical rotation hospital is performing urine toxicology, testing must be performed at Westchester Medical Center (WMC) Occupational Health Center, as tests are not covered by health insurance and must be performed as chain of custody testing. WMC Occupational Health Center, located in the Taylor Pavilion Room D-109, will perform urine toxicology at no charge to NYMC students. Call (914) 493-8580 or email ohc@wmchealth.org to schedule an appointment. Please leave some ideal appointment times and dates. You should hear back within 48 hours.
