David S. Markenson, M.D., M.B.A.
David S. Markenson, M.D., M.B.A. is the deputy editor-in-chief for Disaster Medicine and Public Health Preparedness Journal. He serves as senior advisor and former chair of the Scientific Advisory Council for the American Red Cross. Dr. Markenson was the vice president of graduate medical education for the Continental, Mid-America, and Mountain Divisions at Hospital Corporation of America Physician Services Group. His career has been dedicated to general pediatrics, improving health system quality, pediatric care approaches, disaster medicine, and advancing EMS and emergency medicine. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Emergency Medicine, the College of Critical Care Medicine and the American College of Healthcare Executives. He has been the PI of multiple federal, state, and local grants. He gave more than 250 presentations nationally and abroad.
