Jessica Lewis is a dedicated public health professional and full-time doctoral student in the Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) program in Health Policy and Management at New York Medical College (2025–2029). A native of Los Angeles, California, Jessica brings a strong academic foundation and over a decade of government service to her advanced studies in public health leadership.

She earned both her Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation and Disability Services and her Master of Public Administration (MPA) with a concentration in Healthcare Administration from Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. During her time at the Nelson Mandela School of Public Policy, she honed her skills in healthcare systems management and policy development.

Currently, Jessica serves as a Consumer Safety Inspector with the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). With ten years of experience in the meat inspection and food safety sector, she has been instrumental in protecting public health through federal regulatory systems and ensuring compliance with national safety standards.

Her long-term goal is to influence policy decisions in the government that improve outcomes on both federal and local levels.
