Affiliated Clinical Sites

Embedded throughout our medically oriented program is a clinical curriculum second to none, that prepares you to assess and treat patients in healthcare and professional settings. With over 150 regional clinical and practicum sites, you can really see the strength of our clinical education.

From the first semester of the first year you will experience hands-on training. Your first clinical experience will be at our on-campus clinic. External rotations are in your third, fourth and fifth semesters when you will be placed in a range of school, preschool, outpatient pediatric and adult settings, and rehabilitation centers, and acute care hospitals. You will have the opportunity for clinical experiences that cover the lifespan across a variety of clinical settings.

At least one of the three external rotations will be a modular medical rotation where you gain experiences in:

dysphagia evaluation and treatment
augmentative and alternative communication
audiology
critical care
adult cognitive-linguistic evaluation
acute rehabilitation socialization group
in-patient psychiatric treatment

Our program is one of a few with a strong focus on public health. That’s how you’ll develop an appreciation for your role in ensuring the communicative health of the population.
