Anthony (Tony) Sozzo, M.S.Ed., M.A., has been an Associate Dean for Student Affairs at New York Medical College since 1984 and an educator for over fifty years. As the Director of the Office of Student Financial Planning, his office processes over sixty million dollars of student aid to over 1,100 students. In addition, as the Director of Student Activities, Mr. Sozzo oversees over one hundred student activity clubs involved in community service, social, and charity events.

Mr. Sozzo served twice as the NASFAA GPIC Chair in 2012-13 and again in 2018-19. He was Chair of AAMC (COSFA) the Committee on Student Financial Aid from 1995 to 1998 which is a national financial aid committee for medical schools. During his leadership, COSFA developed “Monetary Decisions for Medical Doctors” (MD)2 a longitudinal financial plan for students from the pre-medical to the early practice years which was the foundation for current AAMC First for Medical Education. In 1993, Mr. Sozzo developed and still operates MEDAID-L listserv for Health Professions financial aid administrators now serving over five hundred professional colleagues.

Mr. Sozzo is an accomplished teacher having taught college courses in American history, government, and world politics. He continues to teach by educating his students about sound fiscal management, debt management, credit cards and Identity Theft. Mr. Sozzo presented at scores of professional conferences on topics of technology, office management, and more recently on using social media to communicate with your students.
