Oleg Epelbaum, M.D., joined the faculty at New York Medical College in 2016 and, since 2020, has served as program director of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship at Westchester Medical Center (WMC). Prior to his arrival at NYMC/WMC, Dr. Epelbaum spent over five years as faculty at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
He has been an active member of the American Thoracic Society (ATS) and of the American College of Chest Physicians, including as chair and speaker at multiple sessions at ATS and CHEST annual conferences and as co-author of several clinical practice guideline documents. He is also a past president of the New York State Thoracic Society. His published work has appeared in such high-impact specialty journals as The American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, The Annals of the American Thoracic Society, CHEST, and Intensive Care Medicine. He regularly contributes editorial and reviewer services to a number of prominent journals in his field.
Dr. Epelbaum is clinically active across a broad range of academic practice in pulmonary and critical care medicine with a focus on infections, diagnostic bronchoscopy, pleural diseases, and ARDS. He has been a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society since medical school and is perennially listed as a Top Doctor in Pulmonology by both New York Magazine and Westchester Magazine.
