Warren Fong, M.S., CMD, DABR, is a board-certified clinical medical physicist specializing in advanced radiation oncology physics, complex treatment planning, and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS/SBRT). Combining a technical background in computer science with advanced clinical training in medical physics, he has spent over two decades contributing to high-precision radiation therapy workflows and machine quality assurance across various radiation oncology departments.

He began his oncology career in medical dosimetry at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) in 2004, developing proficiency in complex 3D-CRT, IMRT, VMAT, and stereotactic planning across a wide spectrum of treatment sites. In 2018, he transitioned to lead the dosimetry planning team at MSKCC’s Montvale regional center, where he managed complex clinical consultations, trained incoming staff, developed clinical workflow automation scripts, and established stereotactic planning procedures.

He completed his CAMPEP-accredited medical physics residency at MSKCC in 2022, serving as chief resident from 2021 to 2022. Following residency, he joined MSKCC’s Westchester regional facility as a clinical medical physicist and brain planning site lead. His clinical scope spans comprehensive linear accelerator calibration (daily, monthly, and annual QA), high-dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy, motion management, and patient-specific stereotactic QA.

His clinical research and technical projects focus on linac commissioning, plan complexity reduction, and high-accuracy delivery for challenging geometries: Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS): Led end-to-end commissioning and model validation on Varian TrueBeam systems for single-isocenter multi-lesion VMAT HyperArc SRS treating small (7 mm) brain metastases using standard 5 mm multileaf collimators (MLC), incorporating small-field output measurements, amorphous phantoms, film dosimetry, and Winston-Lutz alignment. In Workflow Optimization & Plan Complexity, he investigated techniques to reduce VMAT SRS plan modulation to improve patient-specific QA pass rates, as well as evaluated couch attenuation factors and shoulder avoidance structures in head-and-neck treatments.
