Frishman, William H. | New York Medical College

William H. Frishman, M.D., is an internist and cardiologist with a research interest in cardiovascular pharmacology, clinical epidemiology, and geriatrics. Dr. Frishman has authored and co-authored more than 900 original articles, reviews, and book chapters. He has also edited, co-edited, authored, and co-authored twelve full-length textbooks, including the major text Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapeutics (McGraw-Hill), now in its second edition. Dr. Frishman published three books: Complementary and Integrative Therapies for Cardiovascular Disease (Elsevier 2005), Cardiovascular Regeneration and Stem Cell Therapy (Blackwell Futura, 2007), and Hypertension: A Clinical Guide (Lippincott, 2007). He is also the supplements editor for the American Journal of Medicine and a co-editor of the journal Cardiology in Review and the Yearbook of Medicine.

Dr. Frishman has served as a principal investigator in multiple NIH-funded studies, including the "Systolic Hypertension in the Elderly" (SHEP) Trial, the "Studies of Left Ventricular Dysfunction" (SOLVD), the "Women's Health Initiative Trial" (WHI), and the "Bronx Longitudinal Aging Study."
