Akiva Novetsky, M.D., M.S., a board-certified gynecologic oncologist specializing in the treatment of uterine, ovarian, cervical, vaginal, and vulvar cancers, serves as associate chair for quality and safety in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at New York Medical College and as medical director of quality and safety at Westchester Medical Center. In these roles, he has developed and leads a comprehensive quality improvement program aimed at advancing patient outcomes.

Dr. Novetsky’s research centers on improving the diagnosis and care of patients with cervical cancer and pre-cancer. He is a co-investigator on a National Cancer Institute Moonshot grant to develop low-cost technologies for identifying cervical pre-cancers, with a focus on global implementation in low- and middle-income countries. A dedicated leader in cancer prevention, Dr. Novetsky serves as the associate editor for the Journal of Lower Genital Tract Disease and actively contributes to national committees through the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology, where he has served on the Board of Directors, the American Cancer Society’s National Roundtable on Cervical Cancer Steering Committee, which he co-chaired, The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the Society for Gynecologic Oncology. Dr. Novetsky has been an invited speaker at national and international conferences.
