Matilde L. Román, J.D., serves as the senior vice president and chief equity, inclusion, and diversity officer at Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth), where she leads and directs the integration of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) best practices across the organization. 

Prior to joining WMCHealth, she was the inaugural chief diversity and inclusion officer at NYC Health + Hospitals, where she established system-wide DEI initiatives in the nation’s largest public healthcare system. Román has dedicated her career to developing policies and programs that support underserved communities, improve access to essential services, and drive positive social change. Recognized as one of the Top Diversity Officers in the U.S., she has held key leadership positions, including general counsel, deputy commissioner, and senior policy advisor, consistently advancing equity, inclusion, and community empowerment through innovative solutions and organizational leadership.
