The School of Medicine (SOM) Office of Faculty and Academic Affairs offers wide-ranging faculty development resources, including programs and opportunities that allow SOM and Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (GSBMS) faculty to build professional skills and knowledge in scholarship and education, to promote mentorship and collaboration, and to reward and recognize faculty commitment to and excellence in education.

Faculty are engaged on an ongoing basis to ensure programs and resources are applicable to faculty needs and support faculty as they create an optimal learning environment for students and continually cultivate their deep pedagogical knowledge.

Support for career and professional development of SOM and GSBMS faculty at all levels, including teaching, research, service, and clinical practice, including:

  • Access to a curated Resource Repository available exclusively to faculty members and sponsored residencies through a Faculty Development website. Here faculty will find information about a variety of curated learning opportunities, which include workshops, conferences, podcasts, videos, and suggested readings
  • Individual- and group consultation with our faculty development experts to support your needs and projects 
  • Access to Touro University's professional development suite that includes a variety of credentialing "badges" and virtual education-related certificate programs
